After a failed attempt at wooing the public on last year’s X-Factor, JLS are back and quickly climbing to the top of the charts with their self-titled album. Although the band were downtrodden and seemingly under-appreciated in the competition, it seems like tables have now been turned as the boys successfully continue to silence their critics.
Taking a mixture of pop and R‘n’B, Aston, JB, Marvin and Ortisè have kept their album relevant to the new epoch in the music industry. The album which includes their massive hit single ‘Everybody in Love’ does not fail to have every soul singing along. Despite its youthful edge, this truly is a record that everybody can enjoy.
The rhythm given to their songs, including the highly successful ‘Beat Again’, has a real vibrant feel and JLS have proven that a song need not be exaggerated and over the top to be on top. Their music, reminiscent of Boyz II Men, enables the listener to sit back and enjoy the rhythm while bumpin’ their heads to the catchy beats.
Through this album, JLS prove to the public that even after losing to the very successful Alexandra Burke, they are definitely worth being taken seriously. Every track on the album is worth listening to and its success gives hope to every JLS fan out there that the future sees many more albums to come!
